BAWN Women's Council Scholarship
The BAWN Women's Council is pleased to offer two scholarships for $500 each, which will be distributed in increments of $250 per semester. The scholarships will be awarded to women who are currently working for a company that is a member of BAWN and interested in pursuing and advancing her career in the building and development support industries by furthering her education. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient at the conclusion of the semester upon submittal of final grades. A minimum GPA of 3.0 and continued employment with a BAWN member is required. Applications are due by August 1.
NAHB Offers CGP Designation Course

When you become a CGP, you gain knowledge of the best strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes, including ways to meet, exceed and verify green building energy efficiency requirements. You'll be able to demonstrate to buyers the environmental impact, increased performance and health benefits of green homes. As a builder or remodeler, you'll show potential customers your commitment to staying current with industry innovations such as green building.
Requirements: A minimum of two years of building industry experience, successful completion of the Green Building for Building Professionals and Business Management for Building Professionals courses, and continuing education every three years.
This is an NAHB University of Housing course. BAWN members may register for $350, NAHB members may register for $365, and non-members may register for $380. Registration includes light breakfast, refreshments, lunch and course materials daily.
Enjoy a Special Membership BBQ
BAWN is hosting a membership BBQ on August 21 at Mills Park Pavillions. Enjoy a complete BBQ dinner, live music and entertainment, train rides and Corey the Clown. Adults are $15, kids 6 to 11 are $5 and children 5 and under are free. Tickets will be available at the check in area or swing by the BAWN office to pick yours up before the event. Only those who check-in and get their hands stamped will be able to enjoy the fun.
